Get to know our restaurant

We've grown - both in the kitchen and in our ambition. With big ideas (and not least a bigger kitchen), we're now opening up to more possibilities: catering, weddings, memorials and larger group bookings will soon be a natural part of Svansele. But don't worry - we're not so wild that we've lost our track. The fire still burns at the heart of our cooking, the passion is stronger than it's been in a long time, and the sense of coming together around the fire drives us more than ever.

The first thing that greets you at the door of the Svansele Wilderness Exhibition is Restaurant Vildsint, which welcomes you with a warm scent of fire, tar and wood.

There is room for 84 people inside the restaurant and we have full rights.

In addition to the spring menu, we can also offer Viltbräda.

When passing through Restaurant Vildsint, another world opens up. Inside awaits the silence, the tracks, the animals, yes, everything that is out there, but that you rarely get to see.

Wander freely at your own pace or join a guided tour through 10 rooms where stories come to life among the snow, moss and 650 animals.

Vildsint - a new chapter for Svansele

Svansele Wildlife exhibition was born in 1996 out of Thorbjörn Holmlund's love for his home region, for local history - and perhaps above all for nature and its cycles. For many years, everything looked almost the same, and it was beautiful that way. But nature itself never stands still. And neither do we.

Vildsint is a continuation that honours the roots but dares to take a turn. With a sustainability mindset in the kitchen, an updated menu, a new design and a new approach that wants to highlight Västerbotten from completely new angles.

From game board to vildsint

Simply put, Vildsint is the new name of our restaurant - but in practice it is so much more.
We know that we are so much more than just game board (which of course still exists).

What are we doing differently?

Just like nature, we live with the seasonal changes. We have used our classic Västerbotten culinary skills, pickled and fermented with a smile on our face. We reduce waste and compose new dishes according to the seasonal supply with love of nature. We've baked, we've invented wild desserts and we've made sure that our menu is equally good for everyone - regardless of allergies and special diets. We believe it's for the best.

Is the exhibition still there?

Of course it does. We will also record a guided tour so that you can listen to it in several languages using your mobile phone.

Some quick questions

What are the minimum and maximum numbers to book with you?

For the simplest set-up, a combination of lunch and exhibition, groups need to be at least 20 people (during the open days there is no minimum). There is no direct maximum number.

For combined activities, we can accommodate groups of 6-8, depending on the programme.

How many will fit?

We can accommodate 84 seated guests in our restaurant.

What do you serve?

We have a set menu for spring, summer, autumn and winter. In addition, there will be small surprises. We also serve Viltbräda, but at a different price.

We are very flexible when it comes to catering, events, weddings or memorial services. Contact us with your thoughts and ideas and we will make sure to come up with suggestions that suit you.

How does it work with dessert? Can you solve a cake?

We can do that! We'll connect you with our chef and we'll find the perfect solution.

And if you want a beer, a glass of wine or some bubbly?

Works fine! Alcohol is available for purchase on site, but if you are a larger group or have requests, please contact us and we will check that we have sufficient quantities.

What about allergies and special diets?

No problem at all. Just let us know around 10 days in advance and you should be fine.

How far in advance do you need to know participants and special diets?

We usually say 10 days to ensure deliveries.

Is it accessible?

It is usually no problem at all to experience any part of the exhibition. The threshold to the toilet can be a bit high, but it is usually no problem and we will of course help!

Hold a conference in a unique environment, far from rigid office premises and boring vending machine coffee. Here you get good food and coffee inspired by nature - of course with the opportunity to add team building activities.
